University of Augsburg to Host International Staff Week on Sustainability
The University of Augsburg, in cooperation with its International Office, will host an International Staff Week on Sustainability from 8 to 12 June 2026. Under the theme “Sustainable Transformation – A Whole-Institution Approach,” the event will bring together university staff from around the world to explore how higher education institutions can drive sustainable transformation through integrated strategies in governance, research, teaching, and campus operations. Recognized as one of Germany’s leading universities in the field of sustainability, the University of Augsburg combines academic excellence with a strong commitment to environmental and social responsibility. Its recognition as the “Best New Participating University” in the UI GreenMetric World University Ranking 2024 highlights Augsburg’s holistic approach to embedding sustainability across all areas of university life. The programme focuses on three key areas – Governance and Strategy, Research and Education, and Campus and Infrastructure – and offers a diverse mix of expert talks, interactive workshops, and participant-led sessions designed to encourage exchange and mutual learning. The Staff Week is aimed at non-academic university staff with a strong interest in sustainability and intercultural exchange. The working language of the event is English (recommended level: B2). The application period runs from 15 October to 12 December 2025. Applicants are invited to submit an online form and a one-page motivation letter outlining their professional and personal motivation. Successful candidates will be notified by 2 February 2026.
